Bloor/Lansdowne announces a beehive of interactive art activity for Scotia Bank Nuit Blanche 2009
FUNKTION FUNCTION is an all-night art exhibition which will highlight the unique sub-cultural art forms of local West Toronto artists - wall-art, live projection, toybox mechanics, all-night vintage camp-in, and music animate the Bloor/Lansdowne neighbourhood from sunset to sunrise, Saturday, October 3, 2009.

DIGIN is a local community group committed to the cultural, social, environmental and economic vitalization of the Bloor Street West neighbourhood surrounding Bloordale. DIGIN initiates inclusive community and cultural plans and actions that will contribute to sustaining a neighbourhood that is GREEN * CLEAN * SAFE * CIVIL.
DIGIN’s annual Festival DIGIN once again will join forces with the BIG Coalition (Bloor Improvement Group) to present the BIG on Bloor Street Festival.
DIGIN will present CULTURE WORKS -- a feature event of the BIG on Bloor Street Festival. This precedent setting street fair celebrates the arts and brings the best that Toronto has to offer to Bloor and Lansdowne. Major cultural institutions and organizations like the AGO and the Elgin Theatre sit alongside local Garnet/Abrams, annhomanART, Funktion Gallery and many others to offer unique and interactive programming for young and old.

More about DIGIN
It was founded in 2002 by local resident and artist Dyan Marie. Originally created to address specific problems along Dupont St. (DIG stands for Dupont Improvement Group} DIG IN also works with other local groups to improve the conditions along Bloor St W between Lansdowne and Dufferin.
